We bought a Kenmore french door refrigerator, and purchased the Sears Protection Agreement about August 2019. The agreement states if we cant fix it well deliver and install a new one.
Before August 2020 we started having problems with the refrigerator, the ice maker, gaskets, and compressor. The protection agreement repairman worked on the Kenmore and concluded that it wasnt worth fixing. He recommended that the Sears Protection Agreement replace the refrigerator. After many attempts we have been unable to effect a repair on our refrigerator.
And so, on October 15 we requested a replacement refrigerator under the agreement. We were informed that replacement authorization #7088 40** **31 had been issued to us. On 23 November 2020 we were informed that we had been awarded $2200 toward the replacement. Since that time Sears Protection Agreement has been non-responsive to us.
The repairman said that the replacement was under the guarantee because the problem originated during the contract period. We think that the Sears Protection Agreement owes us a new refrigerator or an explanation of why they do not owe us a new refrigerator.
User's recommendation: The Sears protection Agreement has not worked for major repairs.
